Choose a practical location
Think about where the dumpster will be easiest to load without blocking the work. Tell the team about slopes, narrow entrances, low branches, or other obstacles. Discuss the placement before delivery day.
Clear the approach
Move vehicles and loose items from the planned approach and placement area. Keep gates accessible and tell anyone else working on the property when delivery is expected. Ask the team what clearance your selected equipment needs.
Discuss surface protection
If the dumpster will sit on a driveway or another finished surface, ask about the available protection option. Mention any existing cracks, soft ground, or other concerns so the team understands the conditions.
Plan for pickup, too
Keep the access route clear throughout the rental. Do not block the dumpster with parked vehicles or new materials. If your timeline changes, call before the scheduled pickup to discuss options.
